The Daily Log 2026

During the summer, campers write summaries of each day. These logs are recorded daily, and posted cumulatively here on the website each week. There are no Daily Log postings for the majority of the second week of camp, while campers are out on expeditions.

We woke up to late reveille, which was followed by mines. Heading over to Mem Hall after that we ate eggs, potatoes and sausage. We then had our duty period. Everybody was trying to make the most out of one of our last activity periods of the season. After that we had soak and a few clubs tried for the song but and not get it. We then had free time and then lunch and following that was rest and an activity. Where we got Mary Lamb, and everyone got one extra dollar, thanks to our trustees! We had free time and then dinner where Aldin Ducic was announced a Senior Sailor. After dinner we had the theater play which was Animal Farm. After that was mines, prayers, and finally taps.

Yesterday was a great morning. The norovirus is over so things are returning to normal, which is fun.  There are still a few boys who are sick in other ways though. We were supposed to have the Glade Play today but didn’t because one of the actors was sick. Also, clubs were not able to go for their song because a few boys were sick. During the AM Activity period, there were small boats, crew and tennis. At baseball, there was a “strikeout a counselor” competition.  During announcements, Essex Curry received his Advanced Canoer. In the afternoon, there was a Senior Baseball Championship and Harrison Neblett’s team won. Also, at Nature, campers made root beer.  For Campfire, Aiden Biglow, an alumni who was visiting camp, led singing.

The day started with reveille. We brushed our teeth, washed our hands, and said good morning to Mr. Michael. We then readied our bunks for morning inspection, and Jackson beat Wilson. Next, we had some breakfast and headed to duties, which were followed by an activity period. Nature did a gold mine specie, and stage crew set up the backdrop for the theater play. Bonfire building started building the bonfire and after that we ate lunch. After a quick and efficient lunch, we had rest followed by an afternoon activity period. In tennis, there were scheduled matches; the stage crew set up the greenroom, and swimming had water basketball. Diving was closed. There was a 5:15 soak followed by the boys vs. council basketball game, which the council won. After dinner, we had varied options, which included bonfire construction, ultimate on Hobbs, pip messing with your brain, soccer, reading and writing, tie-dying, and music on the shop porch. A big group of campers also helped Chase Carmody pull his truck up Infirmary lane, which was a big hit! We then had mines, prayers, and taps. All in all, it was a good day.

The day started with a 7 AM Reveille. Emmett Brown was elected a Captain of Industry. During the morning activity period, there was the Senior Singles Tennis Final between Liam Smith and Rafe Dewey that went into the second activity period. It was a hard fought game, but ultimately Liam Smith came out on top. There was also the Diving Competition. In the afternoon there were Junior and Senior swims as well as the Sub Junior Baseball final. Chase gave an amazing tree talk about buying into Camp and all its values. We had singing, mines, prayers and then taps to end off a great day.

We had a pretty eventful day. It was a Sunday, so we had inspection, chapel and a delectable turkey lunch. Mr. Michael's chapel talk was great as always. The talk was about how we come to camp to leave it, basically meaning that we gain so much knowledge and morals so when we leave it we're even better people and we bring more into the world. After chapel and lunch we had an extended rest and the last camper meeting. After freetime, we then had cookout and crew races. The trustees were here on a boat watching the race. The racing was amazing. In one of the races the two boats collided with each other. Also, the senior boats were so fast. All and all, it was a great day and everyone went to sleep happy.

The morning of Trustee's Saturday began with a 4-hour tennis match between Emmett Brown and Liam Smith. After soak and rest, a few of the many trustees were on the inspection crew. The day's inspection ended with a victory by Birch. After inspection, the Boys v. Council baseball game ended with a victory for the Council 10-1. After dinner, the Trustee's Weekend play was put on with excellence, directed by Peyton Williams.

We had a great day with trustees starting to join us as well as many alumni. Crew boats hit the water for race practice, 3rd and Junior boats. We also had diving prep for the diving contest. There was also a PGRC vs PYC water fight. The battle was fought hard but the PYC won. There was also Dress Rehearsal for the trustees weekend play. There was a reading with Mr. Vinnie and that’s how the night came to a close.

We woke up to late reveille on a crisp morning after Overnight Not Joe's. Afterward, we had prayers on Dana and Birch Porch, followed by showers as usual. The activity period offered a range of options, including berry picking in nature and water basketball at the waterfront. Then came soak, followed by lunch and rest. Everyone was looking forward to the junior finals baseball game, where Malik Foster-Thomas won against Hank Robinson in the afternoon, 7 to 5. It was a hard-fought game but great fun in the end. After dinner, we had a lovely singing where we ran through the classic camp songs in preparation for watersports, followed by wonderful circles and a good night's sleep.

We woke up in the bug net up the lane at 5:55 in the morning, an hour before reveille. Packed up and headed down from the solo overnight. We dropped our bags off at Nature and went straight to Birch Perch for prayers. After that we went to Mines and then to breakfast, which was followed by an efficient duty period. Crew was nice, and we got to watch the sailing regatta. For lunch we had spaghetti and meatballs, followed by a good quiet rest. Later we watched the Senior League ball game between Reese Jones and Thomas Yan, with Reese coming out on top. During shop, worked on my spoon, and then we had lamb for dinner. After the ball game  we had Not Joe's Overnight, which was a lot of fun. There were lots of snacks, steak and cheese subs, and we got to stay up later than usual. It was a great way to end the day

It was August fourth, twenty-twenty-six and we woke up at seven, and we all headed down to Birch and Dana porches for prayers. Sabby Gillis was the COD, and it was a healthy 62 degrees when we all went down to shower. The day continued with our normal "noro-virus" routine with washing hands, bleaching them and air drying. Nature had their solo overnight trip, and we also had music night with many amazing singers. Time flew and it was nine before we knew it and we unfortunately cut off some acts. It was also grit week, and we were able to reach "absolute resolve,". Canoeing had their last time trials and in the afternoon there was a subbie game, Wix vs Kyle, junior obstacle races and a Mr Vinnie's rock specie. In the night cardigan thought there was a bat in the dorm, which turned out to be a moth, and then we all went to sleep.
