Friday, July 22nd — Today – pizza Friday – campers and counsellors woke up to blue skies and a slight breeze from the north. The morning activity period included a large quantity of tennis matches and a couple of canoe tilts. Lunch featured an excellent chicken soup and multiple rounds of tasty pasta shells. After a much-needed rest, the afternoon activity period began with both the blue and white whales carrying campers to pick blueberries at Kirk Phelps’s house and to the Pemigewasset River for some whitewater canoeing. Meanwhile, on the sailing dock, many boys rigged their boats as they prepared for a trip to the head of the lake. The wind, having gained velocity since the morning, boded well for the sailors. That night the whole camp enjoyed pizza for dinner after a wonderful Tree Talk on learning to seek help and taking advantage of our time in dorm circles given by counsellor Sam Denious. For campfire, we had Varied Option, which featured basketball, soccer, reading and writing, board games, and play rehearsals. After a classic Pasquaney day, everyone was ready to settle in for a deep slumber.
