Saturday, July 23rd — Saturday, July 23rd began with a delicious breakfast consisting of pancakes and sausages followed by the daily duty period. During the morning activity period, the first-ever Pasquaney triathlon took place. Eleven teams of two participated in the event. Each team consisted of a swimmer and a runner who then paired up for the final leg: a two-man canoe race. The winning pair was Sam Randall and Carlos Davis. After the activity period and morning soak, we had inspection preparation and upper camp inspection. After lunch and rest, we had dorm inspection. The afternoon activity period consisted of the regular activities, as well as a few water sports competitions and a blueberry picking specie to the head of Lake Newfound. Following dinner, we had the privilege of watching the Pasquaney talent show and sixteen-year-old skit. The day ended with mines, prayers, and taps. [Editor’s note: A storm came through after the afternoon activity period, with some strong winds which had us under our bunks for a while. The power went out during the end of supper, and the start of the Talent Show was lit by camper flashlights, but the lights came back on just after the show began.]
