Camp rose with excitement, eager to be reunited with the Long Walk. Anticipation built throughout the day, and a 5:35 bugle called camp over to Mem Hall so we would welcome the group after their five long days in the Whites. The Long Walk showed up in an orderly manner and sang their wonderful song which was comprised of the melodies of “Sweet Baby James,” “Carolina in my Mind” (both by James Taylor), and “8 Days a Week” by the Beatles. A delicious sandwich dinner followed, along with many humorous announcements in anticipation of the council play, “There Will be Tradition!” Written by Jack Anderson, Evan McClure, and Matthias Campbell. The evening’s entertainment and performances were stellar and made for a great end to a unifying day.
