Saturday, July 8 — Camp Pasquaney woke to a beautiful morning back from expeditions. Senior doubles matches were held on the tennis courts, as well as some Junior obstacle races at the waterfront. Afterwards, we headed to Inspection prep. We had a lot of work to do, cleaning after a messy expedition week. Following lunch and rest, Inspection commenced with an emphasis on getting all expedition gear out of the dorms. After Inspection, a Senior League ballgame featured Spencer Campbell’s “Spenny and the Jets” and Alex Horvat’s “Return of the Doormats.” It was a very exciting game, in which Henry Anderson hit a game-winning grand slam. The final score was 10-9 in favor of Spencer Campbell. After afternoon Soak, we had rehearsals for our expedition songs that we would perform later that night. Then we had a delicious steak dinner with chocolate cream pies for dessert. (Editor’s Note: The steaks were generously donated by the Saini family.) There was much anticipation after dinner as Campfire began, and all the expedition songs were creative and entertaining. After mines, prayers, and Taps, we fell asleep happily after a busy and fulfilling Saturday.
