June 25th marked the start of Pasquaney’s 128th season! A warm New Hampshire sun welcomed us campers back to the hillside. After 84 negative covid tests, we made our way to the dorms where we unpacked and reunited with friends new and old. With new boys hailing from as far as Kazakhstan and as close as Alexandria NH, we started off with a name game in Baird Hall to welcome them to the camp community. Our opening ceremony followed soon, with Rafe Dewey, our youngest camper, raising the flag effortlessly alongside the cannon blast. Bumpson then gave a heartfelt speech to send us off on our season. We soon went down to soak to jump in the freezing waters of Lake Newfound that felt oh so refreshing in the hot weather. A scrumptious bolognese pasta dinner awaited us in Memorial Hall. Council music and a reading of “Oli’s First Touchdown” by Mr. Michael closed out the busy day before we quietly listened to Taps performed by Ryder Hopkins.
