On our last full day at Camp before setting out on expeditions, there was a great deal of energy and excitement mixed in with some nervousness and apprehension. Inspection was won by Stanwood. Rain necessitated chapel in the theater, and the topic of Mr. Michael’s sermon was on “Fear, Courage, and Leadership,” addressing the challenges of the upcoming week camping in the woods. Following a long rest was the first camper meeting where Charlie Linz, Grey Durham, Ryder Hopkins and Tucker Semans were elected President, Vice President, Secretary and Grand Bouncer, respectively. After a rain-soaked cookout at Mem-Hall porch, the weather cooperated enough for us to be in Baird Hall for our first campfire singing of the season, followed by dorm Circles and then Taps.
