We woke up today to a frothy morning, foreshadowing great hiking weather. After a filling breakfast, and an accelerated duty period, we headed out on our first hikes of the season. First and Second Walks hiked Cardigan and Firescrew, two mountains offering exceptional views. Third and Fourth Walk briskly hiked Welch and Dickey. Fifth and Sixth Walk, composed mostly of first year campers, climbed Morgan and Percival, braving ladders and caves. We arrived back at camp around five o’clock and after some free time, we all rushed over to a much-wanted dinner. For campfire, a variety of options were made available. These included basketball, ultimate Frisbee, and even an exploration of the mysteries of space and time. All in all, it was a satisfying day.
