Tuesday, July 26th We woke up to a warm and sunny sixty-five degrees, eager to hop into our cold showers. After saying “Good morning” to Mr. Vinnie and a hardy breakfast, we bid the Short Walk farewell, leaving the total number campers down to sixty-one. With the new abundance of space at activities, we jumped into a busy day of activities including multiple tennis matches, a canoeing specie to the Bristol Gorge, various sailing races, and improvisation in the theater. Despite one third of the campers being out in the woods, energy levels were high for our campfire activity: The Pasquaney Spelling Bee. During this event, campers were asked to spell various camp-related words such as “Moosilauke” and “quoits”. Brewer Stone emerged victorious after correctly spelling Eastbourne in the final round. The day ended with a lovely rendition of ‘Taps’ by counsellor Wes Sulloway in the absence of bugler Spencer Campbell.
