Wednesday, August 9th—It was a glorious morning. The birds were chirping, the sun was shining, and the bugle was blowing. Blowing JOHN CENA. Spencer Campbell woke up the camp with WWE superstar John Cena’s theme as part of the 16-year-old breakfast. As the 16-year-olds thundered through the dorms, we all knew in our hearts (and our ears and then eventually our stomachs) that this morning would be special. We enjoyed a breakfast of epic proportions including bowls of chocolate chips, M&M’s, and an array of fruits. The first course contained apple-cinnamon oatmeal and cheesy egg casserole with sausage and bacon. The main was chocolate chip pancakes and more assorted sugar. We thanked the 16-year-olds for a feast fit for kings and left with mild-to-severe stomach aches. The rest of the day entailed the usual activities, except for the Junior, Sub-Junior, and Senior Doubles Final tennis matches. In several bodacious, grueling ordeals, the Brown and Denious family bloodlines reigned supreme in taking the win for each final. Stone Harris hosted a doggie paddle competition in the afternoon, which was gracefully won by Levi Tyler. After PM activities, we had the epic reveal of the Glade Play, Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring. Congratulations to everybody in the hilarious performance, with a special kudos to Olivier Bijoux for his loud yelling of, “CHAAAARGE!!” After dinner we had singing followed by Mines, Prayers, Circles, and Taps. In conclusion, it was an excellent day.
