We woke to a surprise from the night’s previous thunderstorms. Tons of water and debris had flooded in through Northern Birch and Cardigan’s entrances. Counsellors pulled together in the middle of the night to dig a trench in front of both dorms to divert the water that has been streaming in through the doorway. Some guy’s stuff got a little wet, but we were able to clean it up by the morning duty period. The day resumed with regular activities including senior canoe tilts, Third Boat crew outings, and the discussion of the smoke hovering over the hillside originating from the west coast forest fires. In the afternoon there was incredible sailing weather including 25 mph wind gusts, sprawling white caps, and overall great weather. For campfire, there were 16-year-old skit rehearsals and a great reading of The Devil and Daniel Webster by Mr. Michael. All in all, it was another great day!
